Royal LePage Atlantic Team Leads Atlantic Canada in National Rankings

Halifax - Royal LePage Atlantic has been recognized as the leading Atlantic Canadian residential real estate brokerage in the recent national rankings of the 2010 REAL Trends Canadian Top 200.

The 2010 REAL Trends Canadian Top 200 is a compilation of a nationwide study of leading residential real estate companies, and represents the first annual ranking of Canada's leading residential real estate brokerage firms. This ranking marks the most comprehensive collection of data assembled on the leaders of the residential brokerage industry in Canada.

Royal LePage Atlantic was ranked first in Atlantic Canada and 18th nationally, in the recently released rankings. The nearest Atlantic Canadian competitor placed 113th in the 2010 national listing.

"This recognition is a testament to the work of the Royal LePage Atlantic team of agents and of the trust placed in them by the customers they serve," Royal LePage President Ralph Stephen noted Monday. "We have the hardest working agents in the region, and our place as the leading brokerage in Atlantic Canada is due solely to the tireless efforts of our dedicated team of agents serving their clients with energy and integrity."

Figures released by the Canada Mortgage & Housing Corporation for the first quarter of 2010 note that unit sales in the Atlantic region are up 21% year over year, a positive trend mirrored by a roughly 47% year over year increase in total multi and single unit residential starts. Some jurisdictions are performing well above even that positive trend, with total starts in Halifax up over 70%, Moncton almost 93% and Fredericton seeing a whopping 159% year over year increase.

"The industry is booming in this region now," Mr. Stephen mused. "Our team of dedicated real estate agents, while validated by the rankings recognition, are even more confident in the year to come. Real Trends hasn't seen anything yet."

REAL Trends, Inc. is a research, publishing and communication company located in Denver serving the information needs of the residential real estate industry for the past 24 years.

With offices in major centres in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Royal LePage Atlantic's 252 agents diligently serve clients throughout Atlantic Canada.
